Agnes Florence Hohenrath passed away on April 18, 2016. She was blessed with a long and happy life. Born April 26,1922 in Port Washington, N.Y. to John and Jane (McMahon) Eyrich, she married Daniel (Bud) Hohenrath on June 3, 1943. After being stationed with Bud in Oregon, Arizona, and Colorado, she journeyed home to await her husband's return from the war.
She and Bud settled and made their home in Glen Head, N.Y. where they raised their two daughters and operated a local butcher shop, the Glen Head Market. Agnes and Bud attended the United Methodist Church of Sea Cliff and the Golden Ring Club of Glen Head. Agnes was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She was a loyal and good friend to many people during her ninety-three years. Always a meticulous and hard worker, she was devoted to her husband, daughters, and large extended family. She is pre-deceased by eight sisters and brothers and by her son-in-law, Robert Wolfe. She is survived by her loving husband of seventy-two years, Daniel W. Hohenrath, her daughters, Phyllis Rieder and Diane Wolfe, and sons-in-law, Eric Rieder and John Squires. She is the cherished grandmother of Daniel Rieder, Kristine (Rieder) Morrow, Jane (Rieder) Leone, Matthew Wolfe, and Timothy Wolfe. She is also adored great-grandmother to Robbie and Kurt Morrow and Bobby and Alice Leone. In addition, she is survived by her much loved sister, Antoinette Biddick, special niece, Geraldine Day, and countless friends, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends, but she will be remembered with thanksgiving and with love.
