Barbara Anne Palermo

December 30, 1942 — October 12, 2024

Barbara Anne Palermo, of Glen Head NY, born December 30, 1942 born in Massachusetts, departed this earth on October 12, 2024. Barbara led a full life, married to her loving husband Vincent James Palermo for over thirty years. Barbara raised two daughters, Rosann Palermo Fleischauer and Marianne Palermo Pedrazzi. In addition to her homelife, she found time to own her own business, the Family Health Center in Glen Head, New York. Barbara devoted her time to serving the community volunteering and answering the call to volunteer whenever asked to do so. Barbara devoted her time to serving on the boards of the North Shore Schools and the Gold Coast Library in Glen Head, New York for over twenty years, the Red Cross and Girl Scouts of Nassau County. Her dynamic was to run at full speed on black coffee with two drops of milk and toast; that was all she needed to get her day started. Whether she was watching a battle reinactment on the Town Common in Lexington, Massachusetts at dawn, or taking a stroll on the beach on Bayville Beach, flying a kite at Jones Beach. Her favorite times were active ones with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her husband Vincent James Palermo, parents Warren and Ester Berquist, sisters Martha Berquist Phillips, Richard Berquist, Jean Celine Berquist, and Warren Emerson Berquist. She is survived by her daughters Rosann Fleischauer (Erik) of Wellesley Massachusetts and Marianne Pedrazzi (Robert) of Huntington NY, granddaughter Natalie Pedrazzi, her brother Dr. Robert Berquist, and her nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the building fund to help complete her dream of building a new Gold Coast Library.
