Carl Bruno

August 30, 1931 — October 18, 2022

Carl R. Bruno of Glen Head, loving husband and father of two children, passed away the morning of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at the age of 91. He was born on August 30, 1931, in Glen Cove, NY to Tommaso and Theresa (Stanco) Bruno. Carl had a passion as a young adult for playing the trumpet for various bands such as the Glen Cove Fire Department Band. He graduated from Glen Cove High School and earned a B.A. in Accounting from Champlain College. On February 12, 1956, he married Marie Petrucci. They raised a daughter, Karen, and a son, Thomas.


Carl was a practicing Certified Public Accountant for many years and a partner with the public accounting firm A.M. Pullen & Company. Most recently, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Di Fazio Electric, Inc. in Deer Park, NY, retiring in 2019.


Over the years, Carl belonged to many organizations including the Knights of Columbus - James Norton Council and the St. Rocco's Holy Name Society. He was President of the Nassau Chapter of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, President of the Catholic Accountants Guild of the Diocese of Rockville Centre, and a member of the Glen Cove Planning Board, among other. Carl served on the Board of Directors of State Bank of Long Island for ten (10) years. He was a member of Brookville Country Club for over 50 years where he enjoyed many years of golf and served in many officer positions including President of the Club.


Carl was also a man of deep faith and devoted countless hours in service of the Church. Carl was a constant presence at his local parish the Church of St. Rocco; in addition to his weekly attendance at Mass, he also volunteered as a member of the Restoration Committee, a chairperson of the annual Dinner/Dance, and the Financial Director of the St. Rocco's Feast.


Carl is survived by his wife Marie, his children Karen Lang (John) and Thomas (Janice), and his grandchildren Kristyn Lang, Sara Dumas (Stephen), Alexandra Bruno, Thomas Bruno, Matthew Lang (Kathleen), and Michaela Bruno. He is also survived by his sister Mariangela Rocco (Pasquale) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Tommaso, his mother, Theresa, and his sister Catherine Napolitano (Anthony).

Visitation: Friday, October 21 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Avenue,

Glen Head, NY 11545.

Mass: Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Rocco, 18 Third Street, Glen Cove, NY 11542.

Burial to follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, NY.
