Carmela was born in Glen Head, NY, and later married the late Herbert Peet, with whom she had three children: Janet, Patrick (Lisa), and Angela Herman. She was the proud grandmother of Michelle (Christopher) Henry, Jessica (Ryan) Mastrangelo, Brianna (Steven) Basile, and Kayla (Francesco) Barbera; she cherished her great-grandchildren Kieran, Brayden, Mia, Bryce, Gianna, Mason and Giuliana.
Carmela had a deep love for playing bocce and was an active member of the Glen Cove Senior Center. She volunteered as one of the "Nonas" who cooked for the Feast of the Church of St. Rocco in Glen Cove, NY, an event she cherished deeply.
After Herbert's passing, Carmela moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL, where she spent 15 years. During her time there, she worked as an event coordinator, contributing her organizational talents and warmth to many occasions.
Eventually, Carmela returned to Glen Cove, where she continued to be surrounded by family and friends, keeping her roots close to where her journey began.
