Catherine Theresa Breslin

Catherine Theresa Lucile Horan Sefton Breslin, was born on July 18, 1927 in Greenwich Village, NY passed away peacefully at home with family gathered on August 9, 2019.
She grew up with her parents Matthew Horan and Helen (nee O'Shea) in Manhattan.
During WWII, she attended Fordam University at night and worked during the day at Consolidated Shipbuilding, where she met Sturges Edward Sefton. They wed on September 18, 1948 and moved to his home in Sea Cliff. They had three children, Susan Sefton Douglas, Joan Sefton Rutherford, and Sturges Sefton. Her husband Sturges passed away in 1960. Years later she moved to Glen Head and married John Francis Breslin and had a son John Francis Breslin II. She was again widowed 1968 and worked tirelessly in the service of others to provide for her family. She never married again, but had a lifelong friend, Wesley F. Lindros who passed away in 2011. Catherine retired at age 85. She spent her retirement years between her children's homes enjoying crossword puzzles and games, and being close to family especially her 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
She will be remembered for always putting other before herself and for her playful wit. She can be seen in the gardens and beaches among the flowers, sea shells and sea glass.
