Claudette Genevieve Li

Li, Claudette Genevi&egraveve, 85, passed away at her home on April 15, 2020. Born on September 10, 1934 in Manhattan, New York, she was a daughter of the late André and Madeleine (Burel) Carrotte. She was educated in France, earning a chemistry degree. Upon her return to the United States, she was employed by the Wah Chang Corporation where she started working in their chem lab, and where she also met her late husband John Choi Li. She later worked as a billing specialist at the Glen Cove Community Hospital. She is survived by her five children, daughter Jane Li of Myrtle Beach SC, son Taie Li of Knoxville TN, daughter Sue Gimeno of Tarpon Springs, FL, son Taimim Li of Glen Cove NY, and daughter Eileen Li of Osprey, FL; two grandsons Justin Gimeno (Kristen) and Daniel Gimeno; two great grandsons Truett Gimeno and Thompson Gimeno; and a sister Mich&egravele Carrotte of Greenville SC. She had many talents - she was a wonderful cook and could sew, knit and crochet beautifully. She also enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She had many cherished pets and a deep love of nature and wildlife. Her favorite flowers were tiger lillies and daffodils. She will be cremated and her ashes will be scattered by her family according to her wishes. A memorial service will be held at the Whitting Funeral Home, at a future date.
