Dagny M. Stanton

d. February 15, 2025

Dagny Masin Stanton passed away on February 15, 2025 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Dagny carried herself with elegance and class until she could no longer.

Dagny was born in Bayshore, NY but raised in Woodstock, CT and graduated from Woodstock Academy. Dagny then moved to New York to attend the Katharine Gibbs school and always took great pride in being a “Kathy Gibbs girl”. Being raised in a small town, Dagny instantly fell in love with the bright lights of the big city. While there, Dagny met many great friends and the love of her life Tom Stanton. They raised their family in Sea Cliff, NY before retiring to Savannah, GA.

At both homes, they were always throwing cocktail parties and hosting holidays with family and friends. Dagny loved her family and could not wait to spend time with her grandkids. Dagny loved gardening, redecorating her home, golfing, and taking long walks around Savannah. Dagny was a long-time member of Nassau Country Club and the Landings Club and loved getting dressed up for the many social events. Dagny owned an Irish crystal store for a time and dabbled in real estate, but her passion was being a homemaker for her family. They always came first.

Dagny is survived by her sons Brett (Lauren), Kai (Patty), and Taylor (Lizz) Stanton. Her grandchildren Zachary, Conor, KJ, Sofia, Masin, and Mena. Her sister Denise (Mark) O’Connor and her nieces Casey (James) Bounds and Erin (Dan) Miller. Dagny was predeceased by her husband of 50 years Thomas H Stanton and her parents Lillian and Douglas Masin.

Her service will be on Saturday March 22nd from 11am to 1pm at Whitting Funeral Home in Glen Head, NY.
