Deborah Lynn Sweeting

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Debra Sweeting on December 19, 2024. Debra, known for her vibrant spirit and infectious sense of humor, leaves behind a loving family and a wide circle of friends who will miss her dearly.

Debra is survived by her devoted husband of over 46 years, Pat Sweeting. She was a cherished mother to Ashley (Marc) and Shane (Marilyn), and a beloved grandmother to her grandson Lucas. Debra was also a proud and loving companion to her dachshund, Oliver, who brought her much joy.

Deb was passionate about many things in life, including her love for reading and the time she spent with her family and friends. She had a remarkable ability to make those around her feel valued, always expressing kind words and a delightful sense of humor. Debra was an avid tennis fan and enjoyed the sport throughout her life.

Her commitment to others was evident through her involvement at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she generously volunteered her time at the church thrift store. Deb's kindness and selflessness touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

A celebration of Debra's life is being coordinated and will be planned for the near future. She will be forever missed, but her memory and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church of Glen Head or a charity of your choice in Debra’s honor.
