Denise June Kasner

Denise (Dee) June Kasner passed peacefully February 19, 2019 surrounded by loved ones.

She was predeceased by her parents, Mary and Thomas McCarthy, and her sister Sharon Quinn. She leaves behind her brother Thomas McCarthy and sister-in-law, Helene, her sister Meryl, and her cousins Patti Connors, Kathleen Hill and Brian Reilly. She also leaves behind her niece Fallon Schlossman as well as nephews: Rick McCarthy and his wife, Michelle, Mike McCarthy and his partner, Sarah Guthrie, Glenn McCarthy and his wife, Colleen. She had three great nieces, Cate, Meghan and Harper and three great nephews, Dylan, Thomas and Caiden.

Dee worked for over 20 years as the Accounting/Office Manager for the Going Sign Company in Plainview, New York. Later on, she became the Community Business Director/Human Resources Manager for Atria Glen Cove Senior Living in Glen Cove, New York, and then worked at Sunrise Senior Living in Stamford, Connecticut. Outside of work, Dee enjoyed cooking and baking, making crafts and spending time with family and friends. She also liked to exercise the luck of the Irish at slot machines and secretly pursued tap dance into her 40s.

Dee was stubborn, determined and independent. She was also kind and loving. Her smile could light up a room and her laugh was contagious. She was a wonderful sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend and confidante.  She is deeply loved and will be deeply missed by family and friends.
