Donald F. Catapano

Donald F. Catapano, age 80 of Bethpage, passed away on September 9, 2022. He is survived by his two children, Donald (Richard), Danielle (Ian), brothers, Phil and John (Ruth) and was “Grandpa” to his two adoring grandchildren, Mackenzie and Kyra.

He was born on April 2, 1942 by parents Grace Palermo Catapano and John Catapano in Brooklyn, NY. His long career as a hairdresser on Long Island brought him so much joy and happiness and awarded him the love and respect of so many colleagues and clients and will be lovingly remembered as “Uncle D” to nieces Lisa (Bill), Katie (Andrew), and Matt (Molly).

He was known to all for his infectious smile. He loved telling jokes and golfing and playing cards with his friends. He loved long dinners, drinking red wine and being surrounded by his extended family. We will remember him for his generous, compassionate spirit and the vibrant life he lived. He will be loved and cherished forever

Visitation, Sunday, September 18 from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Ave., Glen Head, NY 11545.

Mass, Monday, September 19 at 10:00 AM at St. Martin of Tours RC Church, Bethpage, NY.

Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Queens, NY.
