Moore, Donald Francis. Longtime Glen Head resident Donald Francis Moore on January 8, 2012 at age 74 after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Retired senior partner, prominent Manhattan law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison where he practiced for over thirty-five years. During his tenure at Paul Weiss, Donald created the Employee Benefits Group within the firm's tax department and remained partner in its personal representation department. He joined Paul Weiss in 1962 after serving two years in the US Army in Germany. In 1969, he received an honorable discharge from the Army with the rank of Captain, Military Police Corps. Donald graduated from St. John's University Law School in 1962. At St. John's, he served as editor-in-chief of St. John's Law Review and student editor-in-chief of the Catholic Lawyer. An avid fisherman, Donald was a member of the Hudson Anglers. Donald is remembered by family and friends for his sense of humor, intelligence, his big heart and his generosity. Loving husband of over 50 years to his devoted wife Alice (nee Kalmar), he is also survived by his daughters Christina Schlitt (Dan), Marianne Nowicki (Christopher), Karen Katz (Ron) and Alison Melrose (Eric). Loving brother of Frances (Marion), Edward (the late Patricia) and Margaret Katkocin (Dennis). Beloved grandfather of Alexandra, Abby and Olivia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
