Erica Carroll

Carroll, Erica, 89 of Glen Head, NY passed peacefully in her home on Mar. 19, 2012. She was born in New York on April 15, 1922, daughter of the late Gertrude and Eric Zerm. Erica graduated from Port Washington High School. She was married sixty six years to her late husband Herman Carroll. Erica was always very busy. She received an award for her "patriotic service to the community during WWII" and continued her volunteer work throughout her life. She was very active in the Glen Head Lutheran Church as a Sunday School teacher and a member of the women's groups. She donated her unique holiday crafts for the fairs and her notorious baked goods. Erica was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a member of the Sea Glen Tennis Club, the Republican Club, and the Glen Head Women's Club, Senior Citizens and Golden Ring Club. She dabbled in water color landscapes, loved playing BINGO, reading, listening to opera and she was an avid Yankee fan. Her most favorite time was spent with her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Herman Randall Carroll. Loving mother of Herman R., Jr, Stephen M., Linda Meeker and George. Cherished grandmother of Stephen & Michael Carroll, Cynthia MacLachlan, Kristi Fitzgerald, Heather, Matthew, George and Nicole Carroll and great grandmother of Trevor and Avery Fitzgerald, William, John and Ella MacLachlan. Dear sister of Rita Loupos and the late Gerda Moore. Erica leaves a legacy of dedication to her family, friends, church and community.
