Born on February 13, 1942, in Queens, New York, to Joseph and Angelina Tumminello, Frank was a proud native New Yorker who carried his roots with him wherever he went. From a young age, Frank demonstrated a natural gift for mechanics—a skill that would shape much of his life. During his time in the service, he worked on Navy ships. Frank later transitioned to working for Local 3 as an electrician, where his hands-on expertise and problem-solving abilities were valued and respected. There was nothing he couldn’t fix, build, or improve.
Frank had a deep passion for classic cars and the thrill of drag racing. He spent countless hours tinkering in the garage, always elbow-deep in a project, always happy to share his knowledge or lend a helping hand. His mechanical mind was matched only by his huge heart.
But more than anything, Frank was a family man. He shared over 53 beautiful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elizabeth. He was the rock—the foundation of strength and support—for everyone who knew and loved him. His children, Joseph(Gina) Tumminello, Frank(Denise) Tumminello Jr., and Jean Tumminello, were the pride of his life. He adored his three grandsons—Michael, Thomas, and David—who brought him endless joy. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Peter Tumminello and Cecilia Liotta, along with many nieces and nephews, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories.
Frank was the glue that held his family together. Through every hardship and every triumph, he was there with a steady hand, a warm heart, and words of wisdom. His presence filled every room, and his absence will be felt deeply and dearly.
He will be remembered not only for what he could fix with his hands, but for all that he held together with his love. Frank Joseph Tumminello will be greatly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
Rest in peace, Frank. Your legacy lives on in every life you touched.
