Frederick Noble

FREDERICK GORDON NOBLE Frederick Gordon Noble, 97, of Glen Head, NY passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022. He was born on April 27, 1924, in Philadelphia, son of the late Frederick and Mildred (Smith) Noble. Gordon served his country as a flight mechanic in the Army Air Force during WWII. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1950 with a degree in electrical engineering. He met and married his beloved wife of 46 years Florence Skinner, and went to work for Bell Telephone in NYC, from which he retired in 1984. Gordon was an athlete who enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf, bowling, and, as a long-time member of the Hempstead Harbour Club in Glen Cove, NY, sailing and racing Sunfish and Day Sailers. He was also an active member of the United Methodist Church in Sea Cliff, NY. Gordon enjoyed music, theater, and traveling in Europe, Central America, the Caribbean, and the U.S. Predeceased by his wife Florence, Gordon leaves with wonderful memories of a life well-lived, his children Brian (Liz) Noble of Tolland, CT, Jim (Laura) Noble of Springfield, VA, and Nancy (Scott) Yeager of Levittown, NY; his grandchildren Meg (Jarrid) Clifton, Christine (Derek) Crimmins, Susan (Matt) Stagon, Alison (Neal Hargis) Noble, Ryan (Simone Yingst) Noble, and Christopher Yeager; and great grandchildren Silas and Andrew Clifton, and Elise and Michaela Crimmins. He also leaves his long-time companion Patti DiStefano with whom he enjoyed many late-in-life adventures. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 190, Sea Cliff, NY 11579. A Memorial Service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Sea Cliff at a future time.
