Grace Jean Horan

Grace “Jean” Horan (née Campbell), a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024 at the age of 93 at Jefferson’s Ferry Senior Living Community in South Setauket, NY. Born on September 5, 1930, Jean lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to her family. A long time resident of Locust Valley, NY, Jean was married to the late Donald J. Horan, who predeceased her on November 4, 2014. Jean is survived by her sister Constance “Sue” Mathias, her four children, Deborah (Connell) McGill, Jeffrey Horan (Karen), Donna (Richard) Renjilian, and Michael Horan (Donna), as well as her nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A kind-hearted soul who loved puzzles and the New York Mets, she will be deeply missed by her loved ones. She had a special fondness for their “country” home in New London, NH, where she and her husband hosted many cherished gatherings with family and friends.

Service Information: A short service will be held at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Ave, Glen Head, NY on June 4, 2024 from 10AM – 12PM, followed by interment at the Locust Valley cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s name may be made to the ALS Foundation or the Dementia Society of America.

Jean’s memory will forever be cherished by the lives she touched. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and unwavering devotion to her family.
