Janet Louise Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janet Jonesie, who left this world on January 21, 2025, at the age of 86. Janet’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Janet was the beloved mother of Pamela (Vincent) Mastrota, Chet Chicosky (Wendy), and Carolyn (Chicosky) Rieger. Her love for her children was immeasurable, and she nurtured them with care, wisdom, and boundless support throughout their lives. She also treasured her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Janet’s grandchildren, Robert (Christine Brown) Rieger, Victoria (Artie) LaRocca, Eric Mastrota, Emily Jane Mastrota, and Lily Chicosky, were a source of great joy to her. Janet’s great-grandchildren, Lucas, Alexander, Maxwell, and Ryan, filled her heart with pride and happiness.

Janet was known for her nurturing spirit, and her home was always a welcoming place for family and friends. Her love for those she held dear was evident in every moment they shared together. Whether through her warm embrace, encouraging words, or unwavering support, Janet left a profound impact on all who knew her.

Janet’s kindness extended beyond her family, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a woman of grace, strength, and compassion, and her memory will continue to inspire those who loved her.

Memorial Visiting for Janet will be held on Saturday February 1st, 3-5PM and 7-9PM at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Avenue, Glen Head, NY, 11545. Friends and family are invited to come together in a celebration of her life, honoring the remarkable woman she was and the impact she made on all of us. We encourage those who knew Janet to join us in remembering her with love and admiration.
