WALTON – John A., of Glen Cove, NY passed away on February 7, 2022, at 91 years old. Loving husband of Aida. Beloved father of Thomas, Mary, Carol & John, (Dawn). Cherished grandfather of Brian, Brittany, Valleri, Katie, John Jr., Kelly, Jake, and Jenny. Served in the U.S. Army -82nd Airborne and went through military training in Infantry school in Georgia where he earned his Glider Wings. He then went on to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he earned three sets of jump wings as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne. Our protector, role model, inspiration. Truly our Hero and The Wind Beneath Our Wings... The visitation took place on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Whitting Funeral Home, Glen Head, NY. The funeral mass was officiated on Thursday, February 10, 2022, at St. Hyacinth Church, Glen Head, NY. Private interment followed.
