John David French passed away on February 25, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in San Antonio, Texas, David was a man whose life was defined by service, kindness, and an unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah, with whom he shared 21 years of love, laughter, and deep companionship. David was a devoted father to Jessica (Gerasimos) Liberatos and David Elliott French, and a caring stepfather to Timothy Stiles Busching (Alison Lyn), Ian David Busching (Shari), and Seth William Busching (Dana Leigh). He was a cherished grandfather to Dionisios Liberatos, Kallistea Zoe Liberatos, Zacharias John Liberatos, Casey Moran Busching, James Robert Busching, Kelley Stiles Busching, and Jovi Sloane Busching, all of whom brought great joy to his life.
David was known for his generous heart and unwavering support for those in need. He touched countless lives through his kindness and compassion, always reaching out to help others in whatever way he could. One of his outstanding traits was his capacity for forgiveness. He followed the example of Jesus, always seeking the best in others and never holding on to offenses. When on Long Island he attended Shelter Rock Church, and in South Carolina, One Church Hartsville. David found strength and community in his love for God, and actively lived his faith.
His passions included riding motorcycles, collecting cars, and playing the guitar—hobbies he enjoyed engaging in with Deborah, as well as many friends. He was a member of Rolling Thunder NY Chapter 1, and later Chapter 4 in South Carolina, through which he served our country’s veterans with pride. He received tremendous joy from his and Deborah’s dog, McKenna, who was always by his side, offering him companionship and comfort.
David’s legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will be cherished and carried forward by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
David, as you celebrate your new life in heaven, you will be deeply missed on earth, but never forgotten.
