John James Noone, 74, of Glen Head, New York, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Manhattan, New York after a long battle with multiple myeloma. Even though he was taken away from this world far too soon, his loving heart left a beacon of light for all that knew him.
John was born in Brooklyn, New York, to James and Ruth Noone on August 15, 1949. He attended Holy Cross High School in Flushing, New York, and graduated in 1967. He went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Iona College and a master’s degree in pharmacy from St. John’s University. He was the owner of the Glen Head Pharmacy, proudly serving the community for 36 years. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, Atlanta Braves, and music, especially the Beatles; he enjoyed traveling the world, long walks and bike rides around Long Island and New York City, including regular walks from Glen Head to Manhattan; he loved animals, especially dogs; he loved sponsoring little league baseball teams and served as a little league coach for the Dodgers, Braves, Angels, and Tigers; he was a student of New York City architecture, especially Brooklyn; and, last but not least, he would help anyone that he knew at the drop of a hat.
John is survived by the mother of his children, Maryellen Noone; two daughters, Caitlin Noone and Monica House; son, Jake (Sahar) Noone, brother, Michael Noone; three grandchildren, Ben, Hudson, and Scarlett; and six pet grandchildren, Lady, Eli, Ziva, Achilles, Bubbles, and Harry.
