Josephine Breglio, 101, of Glen Head, passed away on February 7, 2025. She was born in St. Joseph, Missouri, on August 28, 1923, and was raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York.
Josephine was a telephone operator in Manhattan during World War II. She went on to work alongside her husband Nicholas, who founded N. Breglio School Supplies. Together, they were proud suppliers of educational materials to schools throughout the tri-state area and supporters of the Catholic Church and the Dominican Sisters of Amityville.
Josephine was a wonderful cook. She was also a passionate quilter and a long time member of the St. Boniface sewing group. A kind-hearted and sociable person, she touched the lives of many through her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and many friends.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Nicholas, her daughter Barbara (Paul), and her five sisters and two brothers.
She is survived by her daughters Cathy (Robert) and Elaine (Will Sr.), as well as eight cherished grandchildren, 11 beloved great-grandchildren, and many close nieces and nephews.
