Karen Jane Schenck

Schenck, Karen Jane age 70 of Sea Cliff on December 11, 2020 passed away peacefully at Emerge Nursing Home in Glen Cove, NY. Karen was born in Roslyn to the late George, Sr., and Cecile Schenck, also of Sea Cliff. Karen graduated from North Shore High School in 1968 and later became employed by the Village of Sea Cliff. After 38 years of dedicated service, she retired as the "Receiver of Taxes" at the Village of Sea Cliff in December of 2019. Above all, Karen was driven by her deep love of family and her community where she participated and volunteered in numerous activities and organizations. Karen was a member of several softball leagues, volunteered at the Sea Cliff museum, was an usher at St. Boniface Parish and she drove the "Seniors" bus, for which she was very passionate. For many years, Karen was an active member in several service organizations which include Golden Ring, the American Legion and the Lions Club, Karen is survived by her loving brother George and wife Linda, nieces Ashley Boling and Michelle Cummings and a host of several great nieces and nephews, as well as several cousins.
A wake will be held from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm and 7:00 pm-9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Whitting Funeral Home, in Glen Head. A funeral mass will be held at St. Boniface Martyr Parish (Glen Avenue, Sea Cliff) on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 10:00 am.
