Margaret Jordan

Margaret Jordan of Boynton Beach, FL, formerly of Sea Cliff, NY, died Thursday, September 5, aged 78, in Boynton Beach, FL.


Beloved wife of the late Michael Jordan, she is survived by daughter Caroline (Ned) Houghton, son Michael (Erica) Jordan, and granddaughter Aria Bridget Jordan, all of Glen Head, NY. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Bridget Nally and sister Mary Gallagher. She is also survived by siblings Noreen McCrossan, Kathleen Mellett, James Nally and Michael Nally, as well their families, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.


Born in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland, in 1946, Margaret emigrated to New York in 1974. She was an active member of the Irish American Society of Nassau, Suffolk and Queens, and reveled in volunteering for, and participating in, many dinner dances, parades, and other events over the years. She loved traditional Irish dance, music and sport. In 1997, she proudly marched as the Grand Marshall of the Mineola St. Patrick’s Day Parade.


Margaret courageously battled the effects of Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis for more than a decade. She passed peacefully in hospice care surrounded by her children and sisters. She will be remembered for her positive spirit, her laugh, and her great love of family.
