It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Seckans who peacefully returned to the loving embrace of our Lord on September 18,2023. She was a devout Catholic who lived a life guided by faith, love, and service to others.
Mary was a remarkable individual known for her selflessness who touched the lives of many and will forever be cherished in our hearts.
Born on July 6, 1932, Mary was a 91-year-old beloved daughter, wife, mother to Mary and Donna grandmother to Chrissy, Danny, Eric, Tracy, Alyssa and Jessica, great grandmother to Gabriella, Isabella, and Mariella.
Predeceased by parents, John and Mary McClane-Courtade, husband, Donald, and daughter Kerry Ann Finnessey.
She was devoted to attending Mass regularly, finding solace and strength in the Eucharist and the teachings of the Church. She instilled Catholic values and traditions, ensuring that her children and grandchildren grew up with a deep understanding of the Catholic faith.
Mary lived out their Catholic faith through acts of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. She understood the importance of following the example of Jesus Christ and sought to emulate His teachings in her daily life. She was a source of inspiration and support to all who knew her, always offering words of encouragement, forgiveness, and love.
Anyone who had the privilege of knowing her knew that she was devoted to her family and showed loyalty and selflessness, not expecting anything in return. She was always ready to extend a helping hand to those in need and selflessly gave of herself to all those around her. Her immense presence brought comfort, guidance, and unwavering support to her loved ones.
Mary will be deeply missed by all. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and resilience that will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.
We find solace in the knowledge that she is now reunited with loved ones who have gone before her and is in the presence of our Heavenly Father. We take comfort in the promise of the Resurrection and the hope of eternal life.
It was with great pleasure to give back to her in her final years of life caring for her when she could no longer care for herself as she once cared for me. She is and always will be in my heart and I will forever be grateful for all the sacrifices she made for me to give me a better life. You will forever be the matriarch and guiding soul as you have always been my sounding voice. Christina Ricciardi.
