Mary T. Kinney

Mary Theresa Kinney, age 91, of Glen Head, NY, passed away on November 29, 2023, at Glen Cove Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Glen Cove, NY.

Born in Newark, New Jersey on Oct. 11, 1932, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Eileen (Murphy) Krauss, beloved sister to the late Eileen (Krauss) Malone (Walter), and beloved sister to the late Margaret Krauss, and beloved brother to the late William Krauss (Elizabeth). Mary was a graduate of Cathedral High School in New York City.

She was the devoted wife of the late James W Kinney, retired Nassau County Police Inspector, loving mother of James C. Kinney (Julie), Maureen (Kinney) Rich (Craig), and Laurie (Kinney) Moore (companion Tom), and adored grandmother of Lawrence Rich, Mark Rich (Allie), Emily Kinney Gourlay (Scott), Stephanie Moore Mantz (Joe), Sean Rich, Sarah Kinney Hirniak (Matt), Ryan Moore, and Caroline Moore. Beloved great grandmother to Ava, Eden, Lilly, Pyper, Theo, Nicholas, Lucas, Jimmy, Grace, Connor, and Charlie.

She loved reading about history and religion. She was a parishioner of St. Boniface in Sea Cliff, NY for 35 years where she volunteered and was a member of The Legion of Mary. She loved her Catholic faith and enjoyed sharing her knowledge and wisdom with her children and grandchildren. She was also proud of her Irish heritage (as her mother was born in Ireland) and loved listening to Irish music.
