Peter Paul Varall

Peter Varall of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Glenwood Landing, NY, passed away on Dec. 22, 2017.  He was the beloved husband of the late Mary, and father of Janice Carpenter (David) and the late Carolanne Varall. After serving in the Air Force, Peter turned his passion for mechanics and airplanes into a rewarding career in the airline industry. Though the years, Peter enjoyed a variety of interests and hobbies. You could always find him building something. One of his favorite projects included building a gyrocopter with a friend. His three grandchildren, Sharon Carolanne Carpenter, Jeff Carpenter and Julie Carpenter Lemke (Trevor), were the light of his life.  Peter is survived by his son-in-law and friend, David Carpenter, who shared his passion for engineering, his sister, Mary Glushakoff (Martin), who shared his love of jazz, his brother, Joe Varall (Linda), who shared his love of horses, his sister-in-law, Lucille Cintron (the late Charlie), who shared his love of family, his cousin, Paul, and nieces and nephews: Karin, Steven, Amanda and Joe. The visiting will be held on Friday (12/29) from 2-4pm at Whitting Funeral Home 300 Glen Cove Ave., Glen Head, NY 11545 , followed by the Funeral Mass on Saturday (12/30) at 10am at Church of St. Rocco, Glen Cove, NY, and burial at Interment Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY.
