Ralph "Rob" Martens

Ralph Robert “Rob” Martens, 80, of Levittown, NY, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 in Rockville Centre, NY.

Ralph was born in Manhattan, NY to Ralph Loel Martens and Mary Kuhnemann on April 12, 1943. He went to Sanford H. Calhoun High School in Merrick, NY. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree majoring in accounting from the University of Albany. He joined the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Major after 35 years of active service and reserve duty. He worked as the Vice President and Treasurer for the Motion Picture Association of America for 13 years, Controller for the Innis Arden Golf Club for 13 years and the Controller for the Garden City Golf Club. He enjoyed camping, hiking, scouting and HAM radio. He was involved in the Nassau Amateur Radio Club, Marine Corps League and the Civil Air Patrol.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Kathy of Levittown, his daughters Jackie and Michelle (John) as well as grandchildren Ethan, Joseph, Alyssa (Ryan) and Maddison (Adam) and great granddaughter Piper. He is also survived by Mary Lee Martens (Chris), James Martens (Glenna) and Russ Martens (Pam). He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Mary Martens.

Visitation will be held at Whitting Funeral Home in Glen Head, NY on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, between 2 – 4 pm and 7 – 9 pm.
