Robert E. Wetzel

Wetzel, Robert E. (Bob), 89, of Glen Head NY passed away peacefully on October 2, 2021. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY, and lived on Long Island for 77 years. A humble and private man at heart, Bob's generosity and compassion were felt by all who knew him. He cherished his family, and behind a balanced and reserved façade, those closest to him witnessed his endearing sense of humor and boundless warmth and kindness. Robert retired as a National Bank Examiner after 35 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Germany. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara; his two sons and their wives, Gregory and Laurie, and Mark and Deirdre; his six grandchildren, Ethan, Marcus, Matthew, Lila, Audrey, and Brian; and his sister Lois.
