Sophie Barbieri

Sophie Barbieri, of Glen Cove, surrounded by family, passed away on March 7, 2024, at the age of 92.

Beloved wife of the late Pasquale, loving mother of Adele (Craig) DeMeo, Patrick (Ginny), Frank (Haydee Soto), Alfred (Deborah), the late Michael, and Joseph (AnnMarie). She is survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Sophie was an active member of the Glen Cove Senior Center and St. Rocco’s Church. She is remembered fondly by nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors for her love of cooking and helping others. Her devotion to Padre Pio and the New York Mets was unwavering.

Visitation Thursday, March 14, 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Whitting Funeral Home, 300 Glen Cove Ave., Glen Head, NY 11545.

Funeral mass March 15, 10 AM at St. Boniface Martyr Church, Sea Cliff, NY.

Burial to follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, Westbury, NY.
