Stasys K. Janusas

Stasys "Stan" Janusas, 61, passed away on September 27, 2024, in Glen Cove, NY.

Stan Janusas was born on December 8, 1962 in New York City, NY, to Saulius Janusas and Angela Janusas.

Stan graduated from North Shore High School in 1980, then attended Fordham University before earning a Master's Degree from Long Island University in 1996. He started his career as a NYC middle school teacher and went on to work for 25 years before retiring. He also recently created and managed a music recording studio in Queens, NY.

Stan was best known for his love of writing, playing and performing music of various genres, principally Rock & Roll. He was proficient in guitar, bass guitar, piano and various other instruments, including the theramin. Stan was also known for his love of basketball, which he enjoyed playing and he was a lifelong fan of Larry Bird "33" and "Doctor" Julius Erving.

Stan is survived by his father and mother - Saulius and Angela Janusas, his brothers - Andrew (Kristine), John (Joy) and Simon Janusas, his nephews - Christopher, Aidan and Trevor Janusas, and his aunt and godmother Maryte Racys. Stan is preceded in death by his beloved aunt Jurate "Julie" Pearce.

The service for Mr. Stasys "Stan" Janusas will be held on Saturday, October 5th at 12:00 PM at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Sea Cliff, NY.
