Vincent J. Guarino

Vincent J. Guarino, a beloved husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, passed away peacefully at his home in Glen Cove on March 16, 2025, at the age of 86, surrounded by his loving family.

Vincent is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Angela, and their children, Joseph Guarino and Connie Mele. He was a cherished grandpa to Louie (Kara) Mele, Patricia (Kevin) Basile, Joseph Guarino, and Joshua Guarino, and a proud great grandpa to Mikaela Mele, Meadow Mele, Emmett Mele, Kevin Basile Jr., and Alexander Basile. He is also survived by his sister, Terry (the late William) Calise.

Born in Brooklyn, Vincent was an avid Brooklyn Dodgers fan who, over the years, proudly traded in his Dodgers hat for a Mets cap, which he wore with great pride. Vincent served in the United States Army, and after his military service, he enjoyed a fulfilling career, working in several fields. However, his favorite job was working alongside his son as a tractor-trailer driver.

In addition to his family and work, Vincent loved the casino. Blackjack and slot machines were his favorite pastimes, and he could often be found enjoying the excitement they brought.

Visitation will be held at Whitting Funeral Home on Friday, March 21st, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial following at the Church of Saint Rocco at 12:15 PM. Burial will take place at St. Charles Cemetery.

Vincent’s family, friends, and all who knew him will forever remember his warmth, kindness, and the joy he brought to their lives. He will be deeply missed.
