Ficarra, Dr. Virgil F. of Glen Cove, NY on April 16, 2012. Beloved husband of Anne. Loving father of Susan Ficarra, Joseph, Roseanne Ficarra, Robert (Debbie) and Diane Lama (Anton). Cherished grandfather of Amy and Kelly Ficarra and Jesse, Jack and Annie Lama. He dropped out of MIT to join the Army Air Corp and was a B-17 pilot during WW II, after the war he graduated MIT with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He graduated Harvard Medical School. He then completed his medical training at New York, Bellevue and Kings County Hospitals. He settled in Glen Cove where he practiced surgery at Glen Cove Hospital for over 45 years.
