Virginia Alice Di Nonno

Di Nonno, Virginia (Nee Hees), 80, of Glen Head, NY, passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by family, on August 8th. Devoted wife to Richard for 57 years, loving mother to Susan Chin (Stephen), Diane Hines (Kevin), and Richard Jr. (Lynn). Devoted grandmother to Sarah Chin, Patrick Chin, Katharine Hines, Chloe DiNonno, and John DiNonno. Loving sister to Anne DeClue (Lawrence), and several nieces and nephews.
Virginia loved animals, especially her dog Jessie. She was a lifelong student, always curious, and dedicated her life to helping and educating others.
Virginia taught high school science, retiring from Floral Park HS after many years of service, and continued to tutor students throughout retirement. She loved mahjong, walking, traveling extensively, board games (especially Scrabble and Words with Friends), and spending time with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Isabelle (Daly) Hees and Gustave Hees, of Valley Stream. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice.
