Winifred Wadbrook Megear

MEGEAR, Winifred Wadbrook of Brookville, N.Y. died peacefully at her home surrounded by family on April 16, 2016 at age 100. Born January 12, 1916 in Englewood, N.J. to Mr. & Mrs. Elston E. Wadbrook. A graduate of Columbia University - Presbyterian School of Nursing, class of 1937. Loving wife of the late Bayard Harrison Megear, devoted mother to Leslie M. Connors of Brookville, N. Y. and Thomas J. Megear (Sally) of Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y. A very special grandmother, "Mimi," to Brooke, Alix, Nicholas, Katie, Maggie, and Bayard, and a great grandmother of five. Dear sister of the late Charles and William Wadbrook. Aunt to William and Claire. "Winnie" loved her family being all together, especially for celebrations and holidays. She enjoyed her friends, along with cocktail hour, a few cigarettes and lots of laughs. She was of a generation who loved and lived life to its fullest. She was happy outside - always planting more bulbs or another tree. We will miss her with all of our hearts. The funeral will be at St. John's of Lattingtown, N.Y. on April 19, 2016 at 11:00 am. Private burial at West Laurel Cemetery, Philadelphia, P.A.
